PATIENT’S RIGHTS

To have a right to be informed and educated in a language that you can understand.
To have the right of respect for spiritual and cultural needs or any other special preferences regardless of race, gender, or ethnicity.

To have privacy during examination, procedures, treatment and maintain the confidentiality of your information, and have protection from neglect or abuse.

To have access to their clinical records.

To request an additional opinion regarding medical care and access to his/her clinical records as per Hospital policy.

To complain concerned authority in case of improper services without the care being affected.

To receive information about your illness, plan of care, healthcare needs, and expected cost of treatment.

To provide informed consent before transfusion of blood and blood products, anesthesia, surgery, initiation of any research activity, invasive or high-risk procedure, or any other procedure including the option of refusal to treatment and/or doctor’s service.

PATIENT’S RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide complete and correct demographic and medical information pertaining to his/her health. And should produce relevant documents as may be required by the hospital.

You have the responsibility to follow the treatment plan established by your physician and seek clarification if required.

Be courteous and respect the rights of other patients and staff at the hospital and follow hospital rules.

Be on time for appointments and inform the hospital if you cannot keep your appointment and attend follow-up appointments as required by the hospital.

Do not take any medications without the knowledge of doctors and healthcare professionals.

Show visitor passes or any documents that you are asked for by the hospital staff during your stay in the hospital. Comply with no-smoking and visitor policies to ensure the rights and comfort of all patients.

You have the responsibility to be prompt with the payment of your bills as per hospital guidelines.

To respect that some other patient’s medical condition may be more urgent than yours and accept that your doctor may need to attend to them first.

Support the hospital in maintaining a safe, clean, and hygienic environment.
