Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system that affects the brain, optic nerve, and spinal cord. Clinical course and specific changes in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suggest the diagnosis of MS. There are medications effective in reducing the number of relapses and delaying the progression of disability to some degree.
