Biography

Dr Sumit has received extensive training in Pediatric Gastroenterology from India’s top Medical Institute (Sanjay Gandhi PGI, Lucknow). He has specialized in care of various liver, gastrointestinal and pancreatobiliary diseases in children like neonatal cholestasis, recurrent and chronic hepatitis, portal hypertension, ascites, gastrointestinal bleeding, chronic diarrhea, celiac disease, cow’s milk protein allergy, inflammatory bowel disease, acute and chronic pancreatitis. Dr. Sumit has a vast experience of performing more than a thousand of various gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures including diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy, variceal band ligation, glue injection, colonoscopy, polypectomy, foreign body removal, stricture dilatation etc. He has special interest in pediatric constipation and Celiac disease and metabolic liver diseases. He has also been performing various skilled Gastrointestinal laboratory procedures like esophageal manometry, 24h pH study and anorectal manometry on a regular basis. He has published several research papers in international and national peer reviewed journals and has many awards to his credit.

- Diagnostic and Therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy: Variceal band ligation, endoscopic sclerotherapy and glue injection in varices, foreign body like coin, battery, screw, Pins etc. removal;
- Diagnostic Colonoscopy in children with colitis, blood in stool inflammatory bowel disease, eosinophilic colitis etc;
- Endoscopic polypectomy in children with colonic polyps;
- Endoscopic dilatation of oesophageal stricture due to corrosive ingestion or post TEF repair, pyloric stricture;
- Capsule endoscopy;

- Anorectal manometry in children with chronic constipation;
- Esophageal manometry in children with dysphagia, Achalasia cardia c. 24-h pH metry in children with gastroesophageal reflux disease;
