The department has been in the forefront for many years in using the Ilizarov technique for limb reconstruction. Specialized services offered include management of infected non unions, limb lengthening, complex deformity correction, management of bone defects resulting from trauma or tumour resection. Some of the pioneering work from the department has been in the field of non unions, tumour reconstruction, deformity correction, amputation stump lengthening and limb lengthening in short stature dwarfism.
